The Eton System
To meet and exceed the tolerance levels prescribed for military applications, we revolutionised the manufacturing process of our canvas products and implemented the Eton System at our factory. A consequence of this was that we were able to set new standards in the manufacturing of robust, fit-for-purpose, world-class canvas tents.
The Eton System provides real time data collection and information with many process and organisational benefits including
We source and manufacture all the materials required to build our tents to the most exacting quality, safety and climatic durability standards.

ETON SYSTEM BENEFITS INCLUDE
Located in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal, our state-of-the-art, 28,000 m2 factory employs over 300 skilled design, technical and specialist personnel.
Our laboratory
Run by a team of specialists, our on-site laboratory provides the group with an in-house quality assurance capability to measure, test, monitor and control the quality consistency of our tents.
State of-the-art equipment assists with researching innovative and improved methods for the curing, treating, laminating and strengthening of canvas. This enables us to improve the design and function of existing products and to regularly introduce new, superior products.
The Rain Tester
Canvas and Tent introduced the Rain Tester at our factory, which allows us to monitor how our tents withstand adverse weather conditions. At the click of a switch, the Rain Tester turns into a mechanical weather system pumping water from a nearby water source into a high-pressure mechanism.
Over a period of time water is released at a rate of 750 litres per hour. The results from these simulated rain tests have allowed us to guarantee that our tents are waterproof.
Our commitment to excellence
We are proud of our heritage
and the respect and success we have earned, thanks to our loyal customers over the past 50 years.
We aim to create products
that are fit-for-purpose and manufactured to the highest standards. We never compromise on quality.
We therefore stand by our products
in terms of materials and workmanship.
